Hair Removal Men –
Beginners Guide
When it comes to hair
removal men can sometimes feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.
The truth is that while in the past hair removal was almost
always a concern for women alone today many more men are
starting to use hair removal techniques for various parts of
their body. This article is about male hair removal, why
it’s important and the techniques that are currently
available.
There are numerous reasons why a man might want to have
certain areas of hair removed. For example, having hair
that’s properly controlled presents a more attractive and
hygienic image. Some women also prefer a man to have less
body hair. Whatever reason someone has for wanting hair
removal men need to understand the different options that
are available so that they can make the right choice.
When thinking of hair removal men commonly imagine
excruciatingly painful techniques such as waxing. This is
one of the most common techniques but is also one of the
least comfortable! Hot wax is spread over the area of the
body and is then ripped off – along with all the hair –
using a piece of material. Waxing is an effective way of
removing body hair but aside from the fact that it’s very
painful may also be one of the more embarrassing treatments
for a man to ask for at a beauty salon. It’s always a good
idea to hire a professional rather than self-waxing to
reduce pain levels.
Tweezing is an option when it comes to methods of hair
removal men can use from the comfort (and safety) of their
own home. It’s probably the most basic form of hair removal
men could try and takes the most time but is useful for
small areas such as eyebrows.
Electrolysis is another form of hair removal men should
consider. While it sounds more technical and potentially
dangerous than waxing it’s actually less painful and can be
permanent. It’s expensive though and there is never a
guarantee that the procedure will be effective. Electrolysis
is usually only used on small areas of hair. Laser treatment
is a similar technique for hair removal men have available
although again results aren’t guaranteed. The total cost
will depend on how many treatments you need and how large
the area is but it can be expensive.
Most of these techniques for hair removal can be used for
smaller areas of the body. Shavers and trimmers can also be
used and are better for removing hair from large areas such
as the back or legs. When removing hair using a shaver the
man needs to make sure that the right length guard is used.
For example, some men want a completely clean shave down to
the skin while others will want a certain amount of hair
left. Trimmed hair provides a much cleaner look than an
unkempt and neglected mass of hair. When deciding on which
method to use for hair removal men should think about the
size of the area, how much hair needs to be removed and what
density of hair is found in that location.
I wish you all the best on your
hair removal men adventure!
Best wishes,
